Final Product
Through the project, we walked through the steps of defining the requirements, modeling the contents, designing the bag, creating the working drawings, and completing the fabrication process.
An important aspect of manufacturing is continuous improvement—reflecting on how designs and processes can be refined for future iterations. While the bag turned out well for a first prototype, there are areas that could be improved. The closure method is not very secure, and the sides open past the lid, which could allow rain to enter the bag. Additionally, the seam on the lid transitions from a rolled hem to a plain hem, which could become a potential point for tearing. Overall, the first iteration was successful, but future versions will aim to address these issues and produce an even better final product.
